General Summary: Under the general direction of the Administrative Director of WellSpan Sleep Services, provides System-wide coordination of care for patients receiving Home Sleep Testing and inpatients referred for sleep evaluations. Serves as liaison between sleep specialty physicians and patients, primary care providers, specialty practices and inpatient referring physicians.

Duties and Responsibilities:The following are essential job accountabilities: 1 Coordinates the Home Sleep Testing and Ambulatory Sleep programs across the System, including, but is not limited to, collecting past medical histories, sleep assessments, direct communication with patients and managing results in coordination with the appropriate sleep physician. 2 Coordinates inpatient requests for sleep evaluation at System hospitals. Provides initial assessment and communicates with appropriate sleep physician. 3 Provides education to patients in hospital and outpatient setting. Develops patient education materials for sleep testing options, treatment options and disease management and for patients with sleep breathing disorders. 4 Assists with triage of System Sleep Services phone line and email communications. 5 Develops and implements quality metrics for home testing program. 6 Coordinates development of sleep medicine clinic model to support home testing sleep markets beyond the sleep center locations. 7 Develops new sleep initiatives, including, but not limited to, System home study program development among Primary Care Physician (PCP) practices and specialty clinics, inpatient home study programs and new/experimental apnea therapies. 8 Develops Sleep Research Program, utilizing System sleep labs as approved research sites. 9 Participates in public speaking engagements, physician outreach, health fairs and community events. 10 In collaboration with local physician liaisons, routinely rounds with physicians in support of the physician outreach program strategies. 11 Provides technical and educational expertise in the acquisition and implementation of sleep system hardware and software. Trains personnel and physicians as appropriate. Provides translation as a technical liaison between IS/IT systems and the end-user. 12 Partners with marketing and county liaisons to market and promote sleep services and associated programs. 13 Develops and implements the A-STEP program for all sleep labs. 14 Aligns and implements clinical process and workflow in all sleep service locations. 15 Functions as a sleep navigator, supporting efforts to focus on inpatient sleep program opportunities including, but not limited to, preoperative sleep screenings and inpatient home study testing. 16 Trains and educates RPSGTs. 17 Assists the Regional Director with AASM Accreditation initiation and maintenance.

Required Skills

Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Education Master’s Degree in Health-related field

Minimum Experience 5 or more years in a health-related field; 2 years management or supervisory experience in sleep related services

Req. Cert/Registration: Board Certified Registered Polysomnography Technologist (BC-RPSGT); Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCHS); Current BLS

Excellent communications/interpersonal & sales skills; basic computer skills; self-starter, able to work independently to achieve established goals with minimum supervision; possesses adaptability to expanded territory or region based on System growth opportunities

Must be able to drive to multiple site locations to oversee various department operations; Must possess a valid driver’s license in the current state of residence and driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management; Willing and able to drive in varying weather conditions and in urban or rural settings.
