The Boeing Company Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist in Fort Greely, Alaska

The Boeing Company Ft. Greely, Alaska location is seeking an entry level Environment Health and Safety Specialist.

The ideal will be responsible for the following:

  • Review Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements;

  • Maintain and analyze basic records and provide reports on compliance performance to internal customers;

  • Prepare permit applications as required;

  • Support customer on EHS processes, programs, issues and requirements;

  • Analyze records and provide reports on compliance performance to customers;

  • Perform annual inspections, investigate incidents and provide corrective action to prevent re-occurrence of incidents;

  • Provide guidance and respond to requests from customers based on EHS policies and procedures;

  • Document and resolve hazards with customer involvement to minimize risks;

  • Collect data and perform sampling to support EHS compliance;

  • Support development, Implementation and monitoring of occupational health and safety programs and processes in accordance with US DOD, Company, and Program requirements;

  • Provide training and instruction as required for EHS related topics;

  • Support evaluation of impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to site operations and provides feedback to EHS lead;

  • Support EHS corrective action plans to respond to internal/external audits and inspections;

  • Provide EHS operational support for missile assembly and launch operations;

  • Ability to relocate permanently to Alaska is a requirement.
    This position supports a 24/7 operation. Over time, on-call rotation, and call backs to support work requests will be required after normal working hours, on holidays, and weekends. Required to support Boeing Team at other locations and be available for off-site training. Travel required.

    The Ground-based Midcourse Defense system is operationally capable to defend the homeland against long-range ballistic missile attacks. This position requires the individual to perform work tasks in an operational missile defense complex or at operational interceptor launch facilities where system assets are subject to war fighter deployment. An operational missile field or an operational interceptor launch facility have significant inherent health and safety risks and individuals are required to train, understand, and observe extensive safety and process controls to help protect persons and equipment.

Typical Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Skills:

  • Current U.S. Security Clearance is preferred;

  • Ordnance program experience;

  • Experience and working knowledge of MIL Standard 822 and DoD 4145 regulations;

  • Certification in Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
