Planning, facilitating, and marketing activities and events for the center such as awareness campaigns, guest speakers, movie nights, book club events and more. Helping organize and manage the Wood Center Food Pantry Serve on the Nanook Diversity and Action Council student programming board. Work closely with other Wood Center programming offices to offer diverse programs for students. Help with UAF''s Green Dot program and other prevention efforts.Essential

The Nanook Diversity and Action Center is looking for a student who is passionate about social justice topics and diversity programs, and is interested in helping with UAF's s healthy relationship education, assault prevention efforts, and Green Dot.

Under the supervision of the NDAC Coordinator, the Office Assistant is responsible for:

  • Planning, facilitating, and marketing activities and events for the center such as awareness campaigns, guest speakers, movie nights, book club events and more.

  • Helping organize and manage the Wood Center Food Pantry

  • Serve on the Nanook Diversity and Action Council student programming board.

  • Work closely with other Wood Center programming offices to offer diverse programs for students

  • Help coordinate Green Dot efforts on campus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Telephone and interpersonal communication skills; organizational skills; familiarity with basic computer applications; ability to maintain confidentiality. Must give a favorable impression to the public in appearance and behavior; adapt to changes in workload; work independently with limited supervision and in cooperation with other employees; possess attention to detail/organizational skills, be able to multitask and handle difficult/stressful situations with diplomacy and finesse.

This is a Student Assistant B; minimum starting pay $9.50.

Applicant must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.
