The Services Governance Office (SGO) is a new enterprise-wide service governance function established as a part of Operational Resiliency. The SGO works in partnership with the Lines of Business, Legal Entity Office, Resolution and Recovery Planning Office and multiple staff functions to provide governance of internal services across the company to ensure the continuity of Critical Services during a resolution period. The SGO is focused on the overall services governance, inter-affiliate agreement maintenance, the program related to the maintenance of the enterprise service catalog, and the annual Recovery and Resolution Planning narrative development.

*The Role:*

The Operational Risk Consultant 4 will work as part of the Governance team on the SGO. The Governance team serves as a first line of defense for the SGO in maintaining a control framework that drives complete and accurate mapping of Service Providers to Service receivers throughout the enterprise and accurately maps the components necessary to maintain these Services.

This role will be asked to partner with key Service Catalog stakeholders across the enterprise to maintain a control framework that embeds Recovery and Resolution considerations into business as usual process. In alignment with that goal, this role will perform regular key risk indicator monitoring and reporting, including partnering with key stakeholder groups to maintain complete and accurate data flow from source systems of record to the Company’s Service Catalog.

Additionally, this role will serves as exam management coordinator for both internal audit and regulator reviews of the SGO.

As part of these efforts, this role will partner closely with Business Continuity Planning, Supply Chain and Third Party Risk Management, Enterprise Information Technology, Corporate Properties Group, the Law Department, Finance/Enterprise Cost, and Human Resources. Additionally, this role will play a supporting role in driving awareness of the Services Governance Office mandates throughout the business via training, communications, and other change management efforts.

Additional responsibilities of the Operational Risk Consultant 4 include:

Process Design and Improvement

• Develop improvement approaches within businesses and across lines of businesses that are holistic, customer focused to understanding business processes and workflow through Wells Fargo and identify and help prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and/or positive customer impact.

• Develops root cause analysis and business case for proposed technology, staff and structure changes, including cost estimates.

• Prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.

• Establishes standards for measuring performance against process requirements.

• May include the direct management of process analysts and consultants.

• Plan, and contribute to development of, complex systems and processes.

Strategy Realization

• Manage execution of group initiatives to ensure adherence to timelines and scope.

• Provide training to small and large groups, as needed.

• Development, execution, and management of change management related initiates (training, communications planning, awareness efforts, etc.)

• Collaborate and partner with other enterprise programs or initiatives to help advance the goals of those efforts while advancing the culture of operational excellence

• Role will require some domestic business travel

This role will report directly to the Operational Viability Lead under the Services Governance Office.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
